Dragon Ball Super: A Saga NOT Over Yet

Mar 25, 2018, 12:48 IST

The last episode of the famed anime series, Dragon Ball Super just aired. There's one question that all of the Dragon Ball Fanverse have been asking since the release of the last episode: why do all good things have to end (and Freiza doesn't)? The traffic over the streaming websites skyrocketed on the 25th of March; well, wasn’t this bound to happen? Episode 131 is said to be the last episode of the series, for the time being. But, like every dark, gloomy cloud, this one too has a silver lining. Turns out, it hasn't really ended. YES. YOU READ THAT RIGHT. They are taking a hiatus and will be back with a bang. I have got concrete evidence to support my claims. The last episode wishfully hinted that Akira Toriyama and Co. aren't done yet. They planted plenty of Easter eggs for us to look out for in the last episode that provide ample evidence of the potential return of the series. I happened to spot some of those. Let us talk about them.

In the final brawl between Jiren and Goku, after receiving numerous mighty and humiliating blows from the lone wolf (or the lone grey alien on roids) Jiren, Goku broke through his shell, unleashed his latent energy and mastered “Migatte no Gokui” popularly known as “Ultra Instinct” and beat the bejeezus out of the almighty Pride Trooper’s system (Very original Toriyama Sama). But right before Goku was about to knock Jiren, who had seemingly acquiesced his defeat or like the Goku fanboys would want to put it “Ass whooping”, off the fighting arena, something unexpected happened to Goku. He fell as if a death beam had struck him. Everyone thought this was Freiza's doing, but it turned out to be something else. As Whis remarked, “The limit breaking the power of the Gods, I didn't think the toll would be this great”. We got to know that it was a bodily reaction and nothing else. Goku fell to the ground and Jiren had to reluctantly put him down the fighting stage. Everyone thought it was the end of Universe 7, but someone kept Goku from falling. Guess who that someone was? It was our beloved Freiza. Poor little emperor de evil. So damn misunderstood.

Android No. 17 was alive too, none expected him to be the last man standing, but none did expect him to be alive in the first place. The Forest Guard proved to be the real MVP of the tournament of Power.

Let’s get to the Easter eggs now. At the end of episode 131, the mighty warriors of Universe 7 had returned to Earth after winning the T.O.P and restoring all the annihilated universes, and Goku and Vegeta were shown to be sparring with each other in their blue forms and talking about reaching an even higher level of power ( Saiyans I tell you).  The narrator here clearly says “Goku and his friends’ adventures will begin again”

Time to rejoice, isn't it? But hold up, there’s more. They've hinted a new arc about the Saiyans from Champa's Universe. The moment their universe gets restored (as a result of Android No. 17’s wish), highly elated by their revival, Caulifla asks Cabba to help her and Kale train to be able to go Super Saiyan 3. This definitely tells the there might be plenty of pure Saiyajin action awaiting us.

Let us get to yet another clue. After the revival of Universe 11, Jiren is seen staring into oblivion, reminiscing his legendary fight with Goku, when the Chacha Chaudhary looking heir to the G.O.D of Universe 11, Toppo, pledges to beat Goku and Co.(Yeah, like Toriyama would let him do that).

This tells us that there are chances of a rematch between the Pride Troopers and the Z warriors.

Lastly, when the two Zenos asks Goku if he'll come back, Goku replies “Sure, I promise”. [Beerus almost passes out].

If all these hints still don't give you a good night's sleep, then get me an all-expense paid trip to Japan, and I’ll deliver.

And yes, there's a Dragon Ball movie coming at the end of this year.

So don't cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.

Toriyama Sensei, we love you like we hate Ribrianne.
